"Towards a Structural and Functional Characterisation of the Bacterial Multiple Peptide Resistance Factor"
The project involved the expression and purification of a previously uncharacterised bacterial flippase involved in resistance to cationic peptides.
Structural characterisation through SAXS (small angle X-ray scattering), native mass spectrometry. Started crystallisation trials.
The project involved the design, cloning, and expression of constructs of MurJ, a bacterial flippase involved in cell wall synthesis.
8-week summer internship as part of the Oxford Internship Programmme. The project involved optimising a protocol for gene synthesis.
