December 2016 – May 2017: Independent Study: ‘Investigating the neuroanatomy of Sex’
Supervised by Professor Alistair McGregor and including a three-week placement in the lab of
Professor Steven Goodwin, CNBC, Oxford University College
This will involve screening for neuron specific enhancers in male Drosophila genitalia
July 2016 – August 2016: Summer Research Intern: ‘PAMP Induced Stomatal Closure’
Supervised by Professor Silke Robatzek Lab, The Sainsbury Lab
Investigating whether PAMP- induced stomatal closure behaves in a cell- autonomous manner
using bioassays and luminol-based ROS measurements.
May 2016- June 2016: 3rd Year Research Project: ‘Investigating diversification of Wnt6 & wg’
Supervised by Professor Alistair McGregor. This involved investigating the molecular basis of
functional diversification among Wnt ligands.
Will be complting a 11-week short project in the lab of Alison Woollard

Awards and Acheivements
Awarded the McGraw Hill Biology 1st Year Student of the Year award for outstanding
performance in Biology of Cells and Chemistry of Cells.
Awarded the 2016 Gatsby Educational Funding to initiate and run as president the newly
formed Oxford Brookes Botanic Society
Awarded place on the JIC/TSL/TGAC Undergraduate Summer Programme 2016 hosted by
the Sainsbury Lab working with Professor Silke Robatzek.
Selected to participate in the Gatsby Plant Summer School 2015 by the Oxford Brookes
Gatsby Mentor Professor Chris Hawes.
Invited and presented by Botanic Society of Britain and Ireland (BSBI) to present a stall at their annual exhibition showcasing the Oxford Brookes Botanic Society.
Selected by “Get Published” to showcase my final year project findings at Oxford Brookes.
