Experimental Experience with most standard molecular biological lab techniques, having spent time in multiple academic and professional labs. Teach PCR, electrophoresis, microscopy, dissection, and cloning and microbiological techniques – extensive experience in each.
Field Experience in biological surveying, particularly underwater (Qualified BSAC Dive Leader), and some trapping/collecting. Extensive botanical and invertebrate collection and identification in tropical environments.
Computing Proficient in R, Python, LaTeX, with experience in BioPerl, C++, Matlab, JScript, HTML/CSS, SQL, spatial analyses (GIS) and a large suite of bioinformatics and phylogenetics software. Comfortable with any OS (Linux etc.). Extensive use of high performance computing for modelling.
