3rd year research project ~ 'Touch Sensing by Roots' in Dr Davies' group, Department of Plant Sciences, University of Cambridge. Investigating mechanisms of mechanoperception in roots of Arabidopsis using qPCR and phenotypic analyses of mutants lacking candidate genes of interest. I was awarded a department prize for my work.
8 week summer studentship funded by the Society of Biology, investigating the genetic control of flowering in Brachypodium and Arabidopsis in Dr Jaeger's group at the Sainsbury Laboratory, University of Cambridge. Included cloning CRISPR constructs for transformation into Brachypodium and preparing samples for in situ hybridisation.
