Mathematical modelling of angiogenesis: When a cancer tumour becomes larger than 1-2mm, it requires delivery of nutrients and oxygen to survive. The growth of tumour vasculature can be modelled mathematically using a system of equations. I use mathematical and computational techniques to investigate the biological process of angiogenesis, and plan to explore the incorporation of drug therapies into this model. I am supervised by Eamonn Gaffney, Helen Byrne and Philip Maini (Wolfson Centre for Mathematical Biology) as well as Eliezer Shochat and Alex Phipps (Roche).
